Please note that due to the death of Fr. Bob’s dad, Francis Stash, our Liturgy of the Presanctified will not occur as previously scheduled.  Information for Francis Stash’s funeral is as follows:

Francis Stash (Fr. Bob’s father) fell asleep in Christ on Sunday.  The viewing for Fr.’s dad will be Wednesday evening, in St. John Chrysostom Church, between 6p-8p with the Parastas beginning at 7p.

Then Thursday there will be a viewing at Mallchok Funeral Home in Parma from 6p-8p

The Funeral will be held at Holy Spirit Church in Parma on Friday at 10:30am, internment will follow the Funeral Liturgy.

The Great Fast (Lent) begins on Pure Monday, March 3, 2014.

As we travel through this Holy Season of Faith, let us pick up our own crosses and follow Him who is to be crucified for our sins.

The Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts is celebrated on Wednesday evenings during The Great Fast at 7:00pm.

The Divine Liturgy of St. Basil is celebrated on Saturday evenings at 4:00pm.

We invite one and all to experience the beauty of the Lenten Liturgies, where Heaven and earth meet.

All Souls Saturdays

Candles and Crucifix


Please remember to bring in an index card with the names of your deceased relatives to be included in the upcoming All Souls Saturday Liturgies.  Fr. Bob will be collecting these on February 15, 2014.

Christ is Baptized!  In the River Jordan!

Due to the inclement weather, Fr. Bob has cancelled this evening’s Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Theophany.  The Blessing of the Jordan Waters will take place this Saturday at the 4pm Divine Liturgy.

 Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos

Divine Liturgy will be celebrated for the Feast of the Dormition on Thursday, August 15, at 7pm at St. Barbara Parish.  Please remember to bring your flowers and herbs to blessed and placed at the tomb of the Theotokos.  We hope to see you there!

Transfiguration Holy Day Liturgy

Join us for the Transfiguration Holy Day Divine Liturgy at St. Barbara’s.  Liturgy begins at 7pm.  As is tradition, please remember to bring your fruits and vegetables to be blessed following the Liturgy.

Confirmation Student visit 2013The eighth grade Confirmation students from St. Boniface and St. Mary Roman Catholic Parishes in Piqua, Ohio, visited St. Barbara’s on Monday, July 29, to learn about the Eastern Church and to experience and pray the Divine Liturgy.  Fr. Bob Stash, pastor of St. Barbara’s, led a short primer on the Divine Liturgy with the students before we began.  Members of the parish community were in attendance to welcome the visitors.  Following the Liturgy, Fr. Bob continued his talk on the Eastern Church and Her many beautiful Traditions.
