Please join us for our Liturgies during this, the holiest week of the year.

Great and Holy Wednesday – April 4 2012 at 6:00 p.m.

Great and Holy Friday – April 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m.

Great and Holy Saturday – April 7, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. (Matins begin at 4pm, Divine Liturgy follows immediately after Matins)

The Great Fast (Lent) begins on Pure Monday, February 20, 2012.

As we travel through this Holy Season of Faith, let us pick up our own crosses and follow Him who is to be crucified for our sins.

The Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts is celebrated on Thursday evenings during The Great Fast at 6:00pm.

The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is celebrated on Saturday evenings at 4:00pm.

We invite one and all to experience the beauty of the Lenten Liturgies, where Heaven and earth meet.

Metropolitan Archbishop-elect William C. Skurla, D.D. has been appointed as the fifth Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh and head of the Byzantine Catholic (Ruthenian) Metropolitan Church sui iuris of Pittsburgh, the only Eastern Catholic Metropolitan Church sui iuris (self-governing) in the United States. His enthronement is scheduled for April 18, 2012.

A New Liturgical Year and a “New” Saint Barbara the Great Martyr

Thursday, September 1, 2011, marked the beginning of a new liturgical year for our faith community. On Saturday, September 10, 2011, we celebrated a Liturgical Recommitment to Saint Barbara Byzantine Catholic Chapel.

Please join us at our 4:00 p.m. Divine Liturgies on Saturdays as we continue to open the doors to a breath of new life in the Holy Spirit! Slava Isusu Christu! Slava Vo Viki!

Please see below for the schedule of Services during the Great Fast which begins Monday, February 11, 2013.  Please join us in prayer during these 40 days:

Saturdays at 4pm:         Vigil Divine Liturgy of St. Basil

Sundays at 3pm:            Sunday Vespers

Wednesdays at 6pm:   Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts

Thursdays at 7pm:        Akathist to the Theotokos

Fridays at 7pm:              Reader’s Service Daily Vespers

On Saturday evening, January 5, 2013, the St. Barbara Byzantine Catholic Prayer Community came together to celebrate the Feast of Theophany and to worship the Trinity.  The Baptismal Font was filled and was blessed with many prayers, turning the ordinary water into the extraordinary Jordan Water, which was taken home by everyone present to use in the domestic church.
